There are many gambling halls located in the commonwealth, the biggest number being on moored river boats. The grandest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Amerindian gambling hall in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gambling space, 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games, such as 21, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and several styles of poker; including three dining rooms, bimonthly entertainment, and gambling instructions. A further large Indian gambling den is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slots, and fourteen table games. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and 4 eatery’s. There are many other popular Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slot machines, and 39 table games.
A tinier Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a water based gambling hall in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend paddle wheel boat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slots, and 14 table games. Another Iowa river based gambling hall, The Isle of Capri, is available never closes, with 24,939 sq.ft., 1,100 one armed bandits, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot riverboat casino in Clinton, has 506 one armed bandits, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday vingt-et-un events.
Iowa casinos provide a great deal of tax money to the government of Iowa, which has allowed the budgeting of many commonwealth wide activities. Tourism has grown at a fast rate along with the demand for companies and an increase in working people. Iowa casinos have contributed to the growth of the economy, and the excitement for wagering in Iowa is across the board.
