Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia casinos that lie just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling hall gaming is illegal. Eight casinos are established in a relatively tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime destination, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; however, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and despite the fact visas are apparently necessary to pass, there are means around this, as is real of many borders.
The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 table games. The Naga casino is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel complex that contains many amenities on top of the gambling den, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
